    Description

For sale is a porcelain license plate made by the Baltimore Enamel & Novelty Co. (BALTO) for the District of Colombia.  BALTO received the contract in 1908 to produce the D.C. license plates.
During 1912, from plate #10,000 and on, the size of the plate went to 12" x 6".
Prior to plate #19,900, and during 1914, the lettering of District of Colombia was 1/2" (later was 1").
Based on these factoids (from the referenced website), the plate was made between 1912 - 1914.
