Vintage Japanese Geisha Odori ‘Maiogi' Folding Dance Fan from Kyoto: Design Y
This Maiogi Dance Fan was made by
one of Kyoto’s renown fan makers.
It
is metalic gold in a lovely
‘a
yame
’ iris design
with glossy black, lacqured bamboo struts.
It came from an Odori Dance School in Gion.
It seems to be unused and in excellent condition however we are selliing this as a ‘vintage
’
item as
it was probably stored there for many years i
n its original box.
It is sturdy and sound without any scuffing, stains or structural issues and looks great.
We have taken it’s quality & condition into consideration in the price.
It measures about 20” or 52cm from tip to tip when open and is 12” or about 30cm long when closed.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
