Vintage Japanese Flying Crane ’Sensu’ Folding Fan Set for a Man & Woman: Oct18C
This lovely set of sensu fans was made by one of Kyoto's many renown fan makers for presentation to customers by Daiichi Seimei. There is a mens fan and a slightly smaller matching womans as they were intended for a couple.
They are completely hand-made in Kyoto with a striking Flying Crane “Tsuru" design on the front and are off-white on the back. They have natural
bamboo struts. The come in their origianl packaging and storage box.
They were probably made in the 1960’s - 70’s, these fans
are
in near-perfect vintage condition.
The larger (Mens) fan measures a about 15” or 39cm across when open and is about 8½" or 22cm long.
The smaller (Womens) fan measures a about 13
½
” or 35cm across when open and is about 8" or 20cm long.

This is one of a huge lot of ‘vintage' Japanese items that we have acquired. Many were stock from a shop in Kyoto that sold kimono accessories… Most were produced in the 1960’s - 80

s but some are newer. Some are unused, like new or have stains or other damage so examine the photos and read the description carefully before purchasing to determine the exact condition of this particular item and it’s value to you.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
