This vintage fan is dated:

1968 so is 52 old! It has a hand-written message wishing a "long life” and a sketch of a Tanuki
. It may have been a commemorative gift to someone… It is blank on the back and has
glossy, red-lacqured bamboo struts with a die-sut design. It is still in the original
box and appears unused.

measures 17” or 44cm from tip to tip when open and is 11” or about 28cm long when closed.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
