    Description

    This tiny half doll represents a very classical creation of the Dressel & Kister company, probably the most popular model exported from Germany in the 20s. It has been produced in many sizes and variations. The half doll we are offering here is
    1½“ (38 mm) high in the version with a single rose and bud applied to her hair and a rose in her right hand. To give an idea of her small size, we pictured her next to an actual size rose. She is very finely handpainted and her little fingers are intact, so is the rose she is holding. On her head, one petal on the back of the rose seems to be missing but it is very difficult to see, even with a magnifier. Other than that, the tiny lady is in excellent vintage condition. For some reason we cannot explain, she has the mark of the decorator printed in blue on her slim base, but not the bishop’s cross, although she is undoubtedly a genuine D+K half doll. She will
