OUTSTANDING  LARGE  GERMAN  ANTIQUE
MALE  CHINA  DOLL by  'KLING' - Mold # 203

and outstanding
'male'
China doll.
This man China doll is 29 inches tall.  I named him the
"Count of Ohrdruf, Thuringia" - -
(this is the town where he was made).
For price reference see page # 330 in the book, 'Doll Values' 13th Edition by Linda Edward - although this size is not listed.  This doll is rarely seen in this size. He is truly an wonderful china.  He does have a cracked and repaired shoulder plate (cost is reflected) - however, his outfit covers this.  He is well marked on the back of his shoulder plate: 'Germany 203 14'.  Notice the painting on his bisque boots.  His head and face is excellent and is painted terrific.  Just notice all those curls.  He has a bisque: boots; forearm/hands; shoulder plate/head.  And his original cloth body.  He is dressed with a formal "count" outfit.  His clothes might be original.  He is dressed exactly as I found him except I placed a small metal ribbon the left side of his jacket.  He is very impressive.  From my home to yours.
