Here we have a big beautiful High brow China head doll with three holes at the base of her breastplate, circa 1860s.  Her coloring is very good and reveal no cracks, hairlines, or noticeable rubs. She has been placed on a newer replacement body of undetermined age with yellow boots with the  raised outline of their tops and buttons evident.  Her porcelain arms are possibly antique, as they are copies of ones I have on an antique doll.  Either that, or antique molds were used to make these.  You will find these appendages are heavy and typical of what would be found on an antique doll.  She is dressed in a two piece dress that has been in our collection for several years, waiting for the right doll, to fit into it.  It is composed of a yellow floral top, festooned with lace: along the scoop neckline, accenting the hipline, and the V-shaped front panel.A tiny black cameo has been pinned at the center of the dress's front.  The sleeves are very full, but are not trimmed at the edges which would take away fro.m the fancy of the bodice.  The huge yellow skirt is supported by a double crinoline: one was attached to the skirt, the other was a separate crinoline.  Large yellow roses are arranged at intervals around the middle of the skirt.  At the very bottom, green striped accordian-like trimming encircles the bottom of the skirt, picking up the green in the bodice of the dress and neatly tying the  entire outfit together.  So, there she is: an absolutely  gorgeous lady!
