Lovely 22" tall, antique German china doll, brunette low brow, slightly turned

This lovely,
German antique china doll is,
22" tall
, (Thuringia region of Germany) c1890,
by Hertwig & Co. and distributed by
Butler Bros., N.Y.
and shown in, "
A Pictorial Reference Guide for German Chinas
"-Krombholz.  She has
been lovingly cared for by many generations in one family and has a slightly turned head giving her a more natural look, nice
deep shoulders
and a deeply molded, low brow brunette hairstyle with center part, exposed ears and deep comb marks,
thick high curls,
molded eyelids
with red and black lines, pale blue painted eyes,
extremely pretty mouth
and lovely rosy pink blush.
Her original, hard stuffed, commercially made, cloth body has a well proportioned torso which allows her to sit well. Marked with an incised number at the center of the shoulderplate, which is hard to read. Her upper arms and legs are also cloth with graceful bisque lower arms
(probably replaced long ago)
and cloth stuffed feet*. She wears original, lace trimmed, antique cotton eyelet gown beneath her wonderful, antique rust, lined velveteen coat with large antique button closure and cord trim. She is in very good overall condition but needing china lower legs as they are *broken and completely covered (long ago with mother's help) with sewn on, antique brown doll stockings and cloth feet, which are not removable for photographic purposes. She has no chips or nicks, no stains or odors, no tears and no other repairs (loc 37) Other dolls shown are
not included
and each listed separately.
