Conta & Boehme antique German, china doll in fine beaded gown, garters all orig.

Description

Very difficult to find, 16" tall, Conta & Boehme, Germany, elegant brunette
china shoulderhead lady doll (circa 1860) with curls all around and partially covering her ears,
shoulderplate is incised
:

She has beautifully molded, brunette hair with no wear,
flat on top with center part, double lid lines, blue eyes, very pretty mouth with peaked upper lips and slightly upturned corners, absolutely lovely cheek blush, beautiful original, long, slender, antique china arms and legs with
pink ribbon garters with black shoes with heels and tan soles
and original good clean cloth body with slender waist.  See extensive chapter in, "Identifying German Chinas"-Krombholz and Coleman's Encyclopedia for more information and photos, page 146. She wears a wonderful, (extremely well made) long antique, gold brocade (fully lined) gown with fitted bodice and waist, long sleeves and detailed, antique black beaded and lace trim over long antique cotton pantaloons with ties at the waist. She has no cracks or chips, paint wear and no repairs and no odors as she is from a smoke free home.  (loc 90)
