Cardinal Pair Male and Female Hand Carved Wood.
I carved this pair of male and female Cardinals from Tupelo wood, painted them with acrylic paints. They each have high-quality Tohickon glass eyes, and painted cast pewter feet.
The Cardinals are mounted on a 12”x10” walnut base. I pinned and epoxied a Cedar stump on the base, filled the recessed area with earth base material, epoxied 2 stones and glued 240 individual tufts of faux grass around the base.
The size of this piece is a bit more than the 12”x10” oval base, and is approximately 16 3/4” high. Each Cardinal is about 8” long and the spread on the female Cardinal’s open wings is about 8”. The weight of the entire piece is about 8 1/2 pounds.
