ANTIQUE LARGE 1860's China Head Leather Arms ALL ORIGINAL26" DOLL to restore
A, totally original, china shoulder / head doll from the 1860's that measures approximately 26" long. She has black hair, blue eyes, and only the hint of a smile.
She is incised on the inside of her shoulder/head " 15 ", see photo.
She has a sawdust and cotton filled body with the original leather covering the top part of her torso and her arms. The rest of her body has tape, patches, loosing sawdust, and her feet are only hanging on by cloth threads. She wears her original clothing (the blouse and skirt are made from a gingham type fabric) ... bloomers, a slip, a skirt, and a matching top that buttons up the back (there is even a little pocket sewn into the front of the top). The clothes are deteriorating in spots but could be used for a pattern. Her face looks very good with only a small rub on the end of her nose. There is some wear to the paint on her hair. Her shoulders were broken and glued back together. The leather arms have hands with stitching to define the fingers. The arms have a couple of holes in the leather. This doll has a number of flaws but, with a little patience and know how, she can be brought back to her yesterday best! Restore her or use her for parts...she is a rare doll from the 1860's to enjoy! We combine shipping whenever possible. Any overpayment in shipping will be gladly refunded.
