Description
Hello & WelcomeThis listing is for an antique poseable articulated half doll. Circa very late 1800's or very early 1900's.
She is an original antique piece and I am most certain she is from Germany.
Reference of this half doll may be found on page 38 in "China Half Doll Figurines called Pincushions" by Frieda Marion.
She is an uncommon piece that you don't see often.
She has been manufactured by a skilled artist and the detail within the mold is wonderful right down to the tiny ruffles on her cap, her molded necklace and the delicate bows that accent her bodice.
She comes from my private collection.
She is just 2.75 inches tall and is considered a petite/small half doll.
This half doll is a very unusual piece and the detail in her mold is some of the best I have seen.
Please zoom in on the photos to see all the detail right down to her tiny molded necklace.
She is a an articulated half doll with posable arms that have been wire strung.
Reference to this half doll may be found on page 38 - Fig. 36 in the book "China Half-Figures Called Pincushion Dolls" by Frieda Marion.
This very cute half doll is in great condition considering her age.
She does have a small chip to her left hand. Not really that noticeable unless you pose her with her left hand up as shown in the last photo.
I took this angle so you can see the small chip to the end of her hand.
Bear in mind this piece is at least 100 years old and most likely much older.
She is poured in fine white porcelain and appears to be of very good quality.
She has been hand painted in colors of aqua blue, raspberry pink and yellow.
She holds a rose in her right hand.

I trust Buyers will rely on personal knowledge about what it is they are purchasing- or will become informed prior to purchase. Communication is key to a successful transaction.
This is why I list pages in reference book where possible.
Please understand this is an antique piece. It is not perfect or new.
When these were manufactured back in the 1920's there were tiny impurities in the slip which caused imperfections when fired such as tiny pinhead bubbles, specks, discolorations etc....
This is part of purchasing an antique and helps to not only date the piece but adds a certain character to the item that you just don't get in today's items.
These lovely pieces are a part of history....and if you are looking for perfect or new...,then maybe antiques are not for you. :)
