    Description

I am listing some of my collection of antique china head dolls heads, bodies, and parts this week, please look at my other auctions if you are interested in China head dolls. The restoration company in our area has closed and I know of none in the area who does this work. I will combine shipping, and all these auctions start at to insure they find a new home.
My goal is to have happy customers and clean out some of the clutter of 50+ years of collecting.
Please look carefully at the photos and read the descriptions, I will accept returns if I have in anyway misrepresented an item.
Thanks for viewing, and good luck to all!
The auction is for a beautiful antique china doll head in need of restoration.
    This doll has the
most wonderful hair, one photo shows the top of her head, and the curls are just so beautifully sculpted.
I think this doll could become a boy or a girl, dates from the 1870’s to the 1880’s when the child doll starts to show up in china heads.
This looks like Alt. Beck& Gottschalck
to me but there are no mold marks to help identify it. Someone has started to fashion a shoulder plate from some kind of clay at the base of the head, I am not sure what is under this material.
This will make a lovely doll once restored, it is a fine head measuring about 3 ½” from the top of the head to the base of the chin, or 4 ¼” from the top of the head to the base of the replacement clay on the bottom.
The hair is just super, the painting very nice, with dark brown eyebrows, red line over the eyes red dots in the corner of the eye red nostril dots and big blue eyes.
The cheeks are very rosy and there is just the hint of a smile.
There is a small firing defect that is light but there just between the eyebrows, and one spot where the glaze is off one of the curls on the back of head.
You can see a tight hair line crack from the clay on the shoulder plate to the base of the hair in the back.
I don’t believe it extends into the hair.
This doll has great potential, the mold lines are nice and deep in the hair and she or he will be nice addition to someone’s collection with a little TLC.
