Antique 22 1/2-Inch Low-Brow China Head Doll with Leather Arms and Torso 8

Description

Here we have a very old low brow 22 1/2 inch China Head doll on a very old combination heavy muslin and leather body with leather arms and hands, with each individual finger hand sewn.  The leather portion of this body has been conditioned and reconditioned with coconut oil in order to retain suppleness of the leather and as a perservative.  The entire body seems stable.  The china doll's head has suffered some significant color loss to the hair only ( please see pictures)  however, her face paint remains vibrant and is vsry pretty.  She wears new stockings and shoes, but her pantalettes and slip are antique.  Her raised bodice dress is faded, white with a brown print.  She wears a white apron which has some melting along the side, which we will leave up to the buyer to deal with as they choose.  She also wears a praire bonnet in a pale peach color, again, the victim of some fading.  All the clothing has been washed and pressed, and is ready for display.  She is a lovely big girl and well worth having!
