9" Antique China Head Doll On Vintage Body In Antique Ensemble 10

Description

This is a little cutie of a tiny China Head Doll: she is only 9 inches tall.  The doll has a hairdo that shows her ears, which is very desirable.  We believe that the head is older than the body, it being around around 1900, whereas the body is probably 1950's or 1960s.  There are some problems with the head, however.   She has some paint loss across her hair, cheeks, and eyebrows.  There is also a chip in the back of the breastplate which appeared to have happened in antiquity.  There are a few peppering marks. One is right on the tip of her nose!  We think it makes her look cute 😍 and very special.  Peppering marks are seen by some as not desirable,  but we think it is something that is intrinsic in the making of a doll's head.  Many of these would have been destroyed if deffective.  So to get one that has a defect is something rare.  She is dressed in a sweet little blue dress with a white figure on it.  There is a white satin sash at the waist.  The dress appears to be old.  The pantalettes are made out of eyelette material and there are tiny blue bows at the ruffled lace trim.  Her muslin half slip is plain and gathered into a waistband.  Both the pantallettes and slip appear to be antique.  This is a sweet little doll to add to your collection.
