12.5" Sawdust China Doll

ANTIQUE CHINA DOLL. Condition is "Used".
This belonged to my husband's grandmother who lived in Fredericksburg, TX. Tags from when Merva purchased the doll are in place. My guess is the legs were replaced in the 1945-1959 as they have that mid-century painted wood look. The rest of her body looks to be in excellent condition as the stitching is the same color as the body, not lighter like the seam by the replacement legs. There is a piece of brown string so she may have been re-filled when the legs were filled. She appears to have more curves than the other girls (the other china dolls I've seen online.) She is wearing many layers of clothes that I assume are original. The clothes are beautiful with the added sleeve detail and 5 pins that look like blank buttons when they are inserted. Marked Germany on the back.
